The Amazing ‘Lamberts’ Competition! (in which every entrant kind of wins!!)

Some of you may know that Chuck had a litter brother named Brewster. Brewster was owned by award winning author Sophie Hannah, which may ring an Agatha Christie-related bell with many of you. After Brewster died, Sophie gave a home to another Welshman, Chunk. In a lovely family link, Chunk’s great-uncles are Chuck and Brewster,

Sophie is offering a special prize in this comp for Welshie parents! So, if you want to enter, please put ‘Welshie Parent comp entry’ in subject header of your email, and your names will be put into a second hat (as well as the first one for the general comp!) – and you will receive a special free gift, from Chunk to their Welshie! Please put in the email what your Welshie’s name is!

Now for the serious part – Over to Sophie…

One lucky winner (and guest) has the chance to win a truly amazing prize! To celebrate the imminent UK publication of my very twisty literary thriller No One Would Do What The Lamberts Have Done on 19 June(yes, it’s a literary novel, folks, and so quite different from my usual crime fiction – though at the same time it’s still very murder-y and unguessable and mysterious and dark, but also jolly and starring a gorgeous Welsh Terrier called Champ Lambert…I could go on!)Where was I?!Oh yes: I’m offering the opportunity to win a four-night retreat/writing/holiday at Marlborough Manor in Essex from 1 to 5 August, with me and other writers/readers/guests. All meals will be provided, and all bedrooms are ensuite! (You don’t have to write or read anything while there if you don’t want to, but lots of your fellow guests will be writers or people who have always wanted to write.)Marlborough Manor is a beautiful manor house in Alresford in Essex, with extensive gardens, a tennis court and a swimming pool.

You can see pictures here:https://kateandtoms.com/houses/marlborough-manor/gallery/

And for those of you who love swimming, I can promise you: that pool is *divine*. So, if you’d love to win a four night holiday, between 1 and 5 August this year, for you and a friend/partner (anyone you’re willing to share a king-sized bed with, basically — no lewd jokes, please!), here’s how to enter the competition:You will need first to read No One Would Do What The Lamberts Have Done, and then, having read it, you will need to answer this rather taxing question:
Q: Who, in the novel, is Connor Chantree?
Please note: you might start reading the novel and very soon conclude that this question is a very easy one to answer. It is most decidedly not…so please don’t answer too hastily. (That’s a bit of a clue, though not a spoiler.)Now, I should point out that you don’t need to buy the novel in order to read it because…libraries!! Order Lamberts from your local library if you’d like to borrow a paper or e-copy to read. There is going to be a generous amount of time provided in order to ensure that anyone who wants to enter the competition can.

The closing date for entries, therefore, is 10 July.
Please email your answers to the above question to champlambertwelshterrier@gmail.com by midnight UK time on that date. (Champ Lambert is the dog who ‘stars’ in the novel, and he is handling all email enquiries/business relating to ‘his’ book.) The names of everyone who sends in a correct answer will be put in a fruit bowl and I will personally pick out a winner with closed eyes. (My eyes will be closed – the winner’s don’t need to be!)

Make sure to put ‘Lamberts Competition’ in the subject line of your email when you enter.

The winner will be notified and announced by the end of Sunday 13 July — both via email and on my social media channels.
What about the Everybody Kind of Wins part??
I don’t know about you, but I’m fed up of competitions that I don’t win anything in. I mean, why on earth would I bother to enter if I’m not going to come out with a prize? Right?! So, to address that significant flaw that afflicts almost all competitions, I’ve decided to make sure it doesn’t happen here. Which is why…Every single entrant in this competition will get an amazing free gift: my three-part mini-course/video series called How To Write A Life-Changing Book, which will take place during July and August. You’ll have the chance to attend the three sessions live if you can make it, and also to send in questions/requests of things you’d like me to cover/discuss. If you can’t make it live, please don’t worry – you’ll still be able to send in questions via email, and I’ll send out recordings of the sessions soon after each one has finished. (And please don’t think you need to be a writer in order to appreciate this course/video-series — you will love it if you’re an avid reader too! It will be highly entertaining and full of loads of goss, to use a technical term!)
